The Sperm Cryopreservation Procedure

Collecting the Semen Sample
Samples are collected in a sterile container. We recommend abstaining for at least three days but no more than ten. For patients who cannot ejaculate on their own, samples can be collected through vibratory stimulation or testicular sperm aspiration.
Semen Analysis
Each sample is analyzed for volume, viscosity, and pH, then evaluated microscopically for motility, sperm count, morphology, and other key factors.
Sperm Cryopreservation
A cryoprotectant is added to limit freezing damage. The specimen is divided into individual cryo-vials, held in liquid nitrogen vapor for three hours, then plunged into liquid nitrogen. At −196°C, all metabolic activity halts, allowing the sample to be preserved for many years.
