Frequently Asked Questions

Tubal ligation reversal is a safe and efficient surgery performed on an outpatient basis using adhesion prevention techniques. It can take between one and two hours to perform depending on the amount of correction needed.
Ideal candidates for tubal ligation reversal must be in good health and close to their ideal weight goal. Dr. Saadat will review your previous tubal ligation surgery to determine the best approach for your procedure.
You can undergo tubal ligation reversal at any age. However, patients under the age of 35 tend to have a better chance of successful conception because the vitality of a woman's eggs generally decline as she ages. But this does not mean that patients over 35 can’t have a successful pregnancy after tubal reversal.
It is recommended that patients reach a BMI below 30 to undergo this procedure. An additional cost may be added for patients who are over 200 pounds or have a BMI higher than 30. Based on medical criteria and for the safety of the patient, Dr. Saadat may elect not to perform this surgery on certain patients with these conditions.
