Peyman Saadat, M.D., FACOG
Our fertility doctor Peyman Saadat, M.D., FACOG completed his Residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology with a subspecialty Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Southern California. Dr. Saadat is double Board-Certified in Reproductive Endocrinology as well as Infertility and Obstetrics & Gynecology.
Throughout his career, Dr. Saadat has been involved in numerous research studies. He has published his work in peer-reviewed journal articles in the areas of pelvic inflammatory disease, HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases, treatment of poor responders to in vitro fertilization, management of menopause and several other areas. Dr. Saadat has been the recipient of various teaching and research awards throughout his career.
His current areas of interest in patient care include management of advanced infertility issues including In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), GIFT (Gamete Intrafallopian Transfer), ZIFT (Zygote Intrafallopian Transfer), egg donation and third party parenting (surrogacy), ovulation induction using Clomid, gonadotropins, and other agents. His practice also includes management of endocrine disorders, including polycystic ovarian syndrome and prolactinomas. Dr. Saadat has extensive experience in surgical management of infertility, including microsurgery in the reversal of tubal ligation, hysteroscopic and laparoscopic procedures for the management of various fertility issues including uterine septum, fibroids, polyps and ovarian cysts.

Ira A. Blitz, M.D., FACOG
Dr. Blitz has been practicing infertility since 1978. He graduated from UCLA Medical School and did postgraduate work at UCLA Affiliated Hospitals. After starting his career in Obstetrics and Gynecology with the US Air Force during the Vietnam Era, he went on to complete a Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles in 1977.
Dr. Blitz joined the Kaiser-Permanente program in 1978 in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and participated in a referral Infertility practice. During this time, he was appointed to numerous quality committees. He became Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and was elected a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists in 1980.
In 1986, he moved to the San Gabriel Valley to help with the development of the new Kaiser Medical Center in Baldwin Park. There he started a new Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, which grew to over 35 physicians. He was the Director of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility there since its inception. He also sat on the Regional Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Committee, helping to direct policy for Southern California Kaiser-Permanente. He also was chosen by his colleagues to sit on the Regional Credentials Committee, evaluating the qualifications of thousands of physicians.
Dr. Blitz has given professional lectures in the areas of Infertility and Contraception. He was elected a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine in 1980 and is also a member of the Pacific Coast Reproductive Society and the Los Angeles Obstetrical and Gynecological Society. Dr. Blitz is fluent in both English and Spanish. He has received repeated recognition for the quality of his patient care and patient satisfaction.

Ellen H. Goldstein, M.D., FACOG
Dr. Ellen Goldstein is a board-certified OB-GYN and specialty-trained Reproductive Endocrinologist and Infertility physician. Dr. Goldstein graduated from Brown University with an undergraduate degree with honors in Biology, where she received the James Kidwell prize in Genetics and Population Biology and was a varsity rower on the national champion Women’s Crew Team. She earned her medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. Dr. Goldstein subsequently completed rigorous training in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire, where she discovered her passion for caring for infertile patients under the mentorship of the esteemed Dr. Richard Reindollar, a pioneer in the field. Dr. Goldstein was offered a position in the prestigious fellowship training program in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at both UCLA and Cedars-Sinai Medical Centers, where she cared for a broad range of fertility patients through evidence-based practices, compassionate and dedicated care, and use of state-of-the-art surgical and assisted reproductive technologies. While at UCLA, Dr. Goldstein published and internationally presented her revolutionary discovery of an important genetic mutation that causes what had previously been considered an unexplained cause of familial infertility. She is currently authoring a book intended to guide infertile patients through the journey from infertility to pregnancy by demystifying complex principles and explaining common misconceptions.
Dr. Goldstein is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and continues to contribute to innovative research in the field of reproductive endocrinology and infertility. She is currently clinical faculty and Attending Physician at the UCLA School of Medicine, where she educates the next generation of reproductive specialists. Dr. Goldstein also serves as a physician liaison to the Feit 4 Kidz Fertility Loan Fund, increasing patient and physician awareness of a charitable resource for fertility care in the Southern California community.
Dr. Goldstein enjoys ushering her patients through the often-overwhelming world of fertility care with intuition, empathy, and clear communication. She empowers her patients by making sure they understand their diagnosis and their treatment plan, which is always supported by the latest research. Dr. Goldstein prides herself on making herself available to her patients, because she understands that important questions often come up outside of business hours.
Dr. Goldstein lives in Los Angeles with her daughter and husband, Houman David Hemmati, M.D., Ph.D., who is an ophthalmologist at USC Keck School of Medicine and a biotechnology executive. When she is not taking care of patients, she enjoys rowing, kayaking, yoga, traveling, and hiking in the Santa Monica Mountains.
